Virtual community meeting scheduled for proposed Hagg Lake gas station
Decades ago, before there was a Hagg Lake, the Seghers community had a gas station and car garage where Lake Stop Grocery, now a 7 Star Convenience store, sits. Plans are in the works to build a new gas station at the site.

Plans to build a new gas station at the site of the former Lake Stop Grocery, now a 7 Star Convenience Store, have been proposed, with a virtual community meeting scheduled for Tuesday as an early step.
The new owners of the nearly 50-year-old Lake Stop Grocery’s vision of constructing a gas station on site near the entrance to Hagg Lake is now being put into action. An online meeting hosted by representatives of the property owners to “discuss the proposal in more detail” is set to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
The meeting is an early step required by Washington County’s land use laws, according to public records obtained by News in the Grove.
“The purpose of this meeting is to provide a forum for the applicant and surrounding property owners and residents to review the proposal and to identify issues so that they may be considered before a land development application is submitted to the County,” the documents said. “This meeting gives you the opportunity to share with us any special information you know about the property involved,” the press release continued.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug 5 at 6 p.m. The meeting will take place online via a Microsoft Teams Meeting. There is no in-person meeting scheduled.
