Verboort's Visitation Catholic School was the site of a Hollywood-style gala on Saturday evening as community leaders and school supporters gathered to raise funds for tuition assistance and new STEM curriculum.
Visitation's 25th Annual Dinner & Auction, dubbed "A Knight on the Red Carpet"—a reference to the school's knight mascot— was a well-attended affair, with the church, school, and parish hall parking lots filled along Visitation Road on Saturday.
Elected officials, leaders of other faith groups, and numerous area business owners were among those packed into the gym at the PreK to eighth grade private school.
"We're raising money specifically for tuition assistance," said Sarah Duyck, the event's chairperson. She added that the event also aimed to support the school's STEM curriculum.
The ticketed event featured numerous fundraising opportunities; including a paddle raise, an in-person silent auction and an online silent auction (open through 8 p.m. Monday, May 12) that features local items and out-of-town giveaways, including items made by students, kayaking trips, and tickets allowing visitors to skip the line at the Verboort Sausage & Kraut Festival.
Visitation Catholic School is located at 4189 NW Visitation Rd in Verboort.
