Joint town hall will feature two legislators serving Forest Grove
Oregon State Senator Janeen Sollman and Representatives Susan McLain and Nathan Sosa will host their first joint town hall meeting since the end of Oregon’s 2025 legislative session on Monday, Aug. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hillsboro Civic Center.

Oregon State Senator Janeen Sollman and Representatives Susan McLain and Nathan Sosa will host their first joint town hall meeting since the end of Oregon’s 2025 legislative session to discuss outcomes of the session and address some of the upcoming legislative agenda.
The event, which will take place on Monday, Aug. 18 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hillsboro Civic Center, will allow Western Washington County residents to hear directly from elected leaders about bills that passed during the 2025 legislative session and future plans as legislators prepare to attend a special session to address transportation funding on Aug. 29. Those who attend are additionally invited to share any questions or comments with legislative officials, according to a newsletter from Rep. McLain.
"I am excited to have so many upcoming opportunities to connect,” said Senator Sollman in an emailed newsletter. “Please visit me at an upcoming Community Conversation or Town Hall. Bring your thoughts and questions and meet fellow members of the community. I look forward to seeing you soon," Sollman continued.
A News in the Grove reporter recently attended a Cornelius town hall meeting with Representative McLain, and transportation was a major focus.
In her post announcing the town hall meeting, McLain pointed at transportation being one of the topics that will be addressed, along with education, workforce training and consumer protection. The transportation subject comes along as the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) has been faced with a $350 million budget shortfall, which led to hundreds of state employees being laid off, according to the Oregon Capital Chronicle.
While not required, registration for the town hall meeting is encouraged.
The Hillsboro Civic Center is located at 150 E Main St, Hillsboro, OR 97123.
