Forest Grove High School officials were made aware of a list of 43 Forest Grove High School students and Forest Grove School District staff members on what was described as a "hit list," according to an email issued by the school's principal Wednesday evening.
"Yesterday evening, we were made aware of a “hit list” that included 43 names of both high school students and district staff members," Forest Grove High School Principal Brian Burke said in an email to district families late Wednesday afternoon on November 19, 2025.
Burke said the Forest Grove Police Department was immediately notified and are leading the investigation.
"The students who created the list are not at school and will not be during the course of the investigation," Burke said.
Burke said the police department assured school officials that there was no immediate threat, and that staff and students were safe at school.
Individual phone calls to the families of students on the list were made, and staff members were personally notified, Burke said.
Burke said that more information could come to light as the investigation proceeds, and promised further communication on the matter.
"If you have any information that might be relevant to the investigation, please contact the Forest Grove Police Department’s non-emergency phone number (503) 992-3260," he added.
Last month, the Banks High School experienced a similar incident.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is confirmed.
