A Forest Grove police officer pleaded guilty to official misconduct and was sentenced to 18 months probation, while a separate charge of driving under the influence was diverted under a court-approved agreement.
According to court documents obtained by News in the Grove, Bon McBee, a nine-year veteran of the department, was sentenced to 18 months probation.
In addition to regular probation requirements, McBee is required to resign from the Forest Grove Police Department and give up his public safety certification through the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training. McBee must complete 80 hours of community service, and was fined $100, among other fees he will pay.
In an email to News in the Grove, Forest Grove Police Chief Henry Reimann said McBee had tendered his resignation in mid-December, and that it would be effective Jan. 2, 2026.
An internal investigation into the matter remains open, Reimann added.
McBee must also complete a 12 month diversion program to avoid a DUII conviction and to complete the terms of his probation.
Under the diversion agreement, McBee must pay $490, attend a victim impact panel where survivors and family members of people impacted by DUII speak about their experiences, and install an ignition interlock device for 12 months in any vehicle he operates, along with several administrative steps.
If the diversion agreement is completed, the DUII charge will be dismissed.
Prosecutors said McBee, a Carlton resident, was not only driving under the influence, but also failed to carry out his duties as a sworn peace officer while impaired.

McBee joined the Forest Grove Police Department in 2016 as a reserve officer, eventually serving as a patrol officer, field training officer, traffic stop instructor, and patrol officer in charge, according to earlier posts made by the department on their Facebook page.
In 2023, he became the department's face to local students in the Forest Grove School District as a School Resource Officer, largely working out of the Forest Grove High School and Neil Armstrong Middle School, according to the department. He was replaced in that role in 2025 by Officer Sam Younce.
McBee is also veteran of the Oregon Army National Guard.
