Where to find fireworks in Forest Grove
Firework sales began in Oregon on Monday, sparking a two week period when licensed merchants can legally sell low-grade explosives to those ages 16 and older. News in the Grove visited every open licensed Forest Grove firework retailer for a brief guide to FG Fireworks.

Firework sales began in Oregon on Monday, sparking a two week period when licensed merchants can legally sell low-grade explosives to those ages 16 and older.
The last day fireworks can be sold in Oregon is July 6.
News in the Grove visited all the sites licensed to sell fireworks in Forest Grove, plus the Cornelius Wal-Mart.
One firework stand, located in front of the Forest Grove Elks on Pacific Ave., was note yet open by 3:30 p.m. Monday, and is not included here.
As of press time, there was no Forest Grove fireworks scheduled for 2025, though the Forest Grove City Club has announced plans for a 2026 shindig that includes fireworks.
Discount Fireworks Superstore tent near Doherty Ford

This is the place to go if you're looking to buy individual fireworks and are looking for the largest variety of them.
While many the local stores on this list focus largely on bundled packages of fireworks, this large tent, containing more than three dozen tables stacked with fireworks, has baskets of individual fireworks as well as prepackaged bundles.

Upper left, going clockwise: 1. Not sure lighting a clear rip-off of My Little Pony in front of your horrified toddler is the way to go, but you do you; 2. A large variety of boxed sets are available; 3. In other "great ideas from firework manufacturers," we have lightsabers that will absolutely be used by children and drunk adults to spar with; 4. Many of the fireworks for sale are buy-one-get-one-free, too. And they were the only place I saw where you could buy a totally-not-minions-themed firework.

Pop-its price: Buy one, get one free on packs of 50 pieces each at 98 cents, or a per unit price of $0.0098/pop-it. At less than a penny per pop, these are the cheapest pop-its (albeit, a different brand called "pop snappers") you can buy.
Wal-Mart
Ok, we're technically in Cornelius here, but close enough.
Wal-Mart has a respectable amount of fireworks, and they're the first thing you see when you walk in if you use the entrance closest to Adair Street. If someone said "Hey, go grab some fireworks right now," and you aren't that picky, Wal-Mart has you covered in the expediency category. The box sets of fireworks run the gamut from just under $13 to around $150, with plenty of variety in between to hit just about any budget.
Pop-its price: $3 for a 4-pack of 50 pieces each, or a per-unit price of $0.015/pop-it.
Bi-Mart
I must disclose my bias here: Until my late teens, the Forest Grove Bi-Mart was the place to go for me. They had what I wanted: inexpensive fireworks, a large enough variety, in single quantities.
That's no longer the case.
In the early 2000s, I would walk in with a budget of $25 and walk out with the tools for a glorious evening of fun, my preference leaning toward the smaller variety of firework like crackling balls, ground bloomers, strobes, smoke bombs, sparklers, those little tanks that move a pitiful amount, those weird snake things, the smoke bombs that look like the verboten firecracker (which, when taken apart and the smoke bomb discarded had excellent wicks for use in the Cronenberg-type fireworks I allegedly constructed) and some Killer Bees. Those days are gone. When I visited on Monday, variety was limited, and almost all of the fireworks came bundled in box sets ranging from $9.99 to $149.99.
Pop-its price: $2.99 for a 4-pack of 50 pieces each, or a per-unit price of $0.01495/pop-it.
Safeway
Safeway has fireworks. Should you get them here? Probably not. The selection, compared to nearly everyone on this list, is downright bad, and you're mostly limited to prepacked bundles of fireworks. But if you're getting those hot dog buns you forgot on July 4, and realize you forgot the fireworks too, they might be what you're looking for. Find the fireworks display in front of the checkout stands. Bundles range from around $13 to $120.
Pop-its price: $2 for a 2-pack of 50 pieces each, or a per-unit price of $0.02/pop-it. That's the most expensive pop-its in Forest Grove.
Honorable mention: Dollar Tree
Does Dollar Tree have fireworks? Not really. Without a license, they're limited to pop-its, very small sparklers that look like emaciated corndogs, party poppers, and party poppers that look like a handgun.
But they do have options for those who can't use fireworks for any reason, be that safety (see above flaming lightsabers), PTSD, pets, or anything else.
Dollar Tree has glowsticks and bubbles, and other things you can use to light up the night and send things into the air and celebrate safely.
Pop-its price: $1.25 for a 1-pack of 75 pieces each, or a per-unit price of $0.016/pop-it.
However you choose to celebrate, do so safely. The Office of the State Fire Marshal has an online page dedicated to firework safety.
