Cardholders with the Washington County Cooperative Library Services, which includes the Forest Grove City Library can now reserve passes for a handful of area attractions through the library system’s Adventure Pass program.

Limited passes to Portland’s Lan Su Chinese Garden, Portland Japanese Garden, Portland Art Museum, Pittock Mansion, the Oregon Garden in Silverton, a one free day-use parking fee waiver at the 26 Oregon State Parks (including Stub Stewart outside of Buxton, Washington County's only "full" state park) that require such a fee, and Hillsboro’s Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

As of this story’s publishing, all passes for the Portland Art Museum and the Portland Japanese Garden had been claimed, with more expected to be available the first day of next month.

Cardholders may reserve one of each pass in a calendar year. For more information, visit the program’s website.

If you are a lover of libraries themselves, why not make it your next destination? And then add fifteen other libraries in Washington County?

A summer program available through August 31 encourages visitors to make a stop at 16 member libraries throughout Washington County with the WCCLS Passport.

The instructions are simple:

– Pick up a passport at your local library. Patrons of all ages are welcome to participate.

– Get a stamp at every location you visit from June 1 through Aug. 31.

– When you’re done, neatly write down your name, contact info and number of stamps collected in the space provided.

– Cut out and return the slip to any Washington County library by Sept. 4, 2022, to be entered into a random prize drawing.

Prizes include tote bags and gift cards to Dutch Bros, Powell’s Books and McMenamins.
