In the same rainstorm that led to a closure of Highway 6, localized flooding in Gales Creek prompted Washington County to plan a third culvert at a two-culvert project completed last year near Thornburg Road.
Gales Creek Road, currently closed, will open, and Thornburg Road, currently open, will close Sept. 16 as the county steams ahead on a dual-culvert replacement project.
Gales Creek Road will close near Thornburg Road starting Aug. 27 as county contractors begin work replacing one of two culverts carrying White Creek, a Gales Creek tributary.
