A 2-alarm brush fire, which also burned a shipping container and a junk pile, drew a multiagency response to the Gales Creek Valley on Monday afternoon, including a hazmat team, law enforcement and state fire resources Monday afternoon.
On Wednesday, July 16, Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek declared a state of emergency over the wildfires at the request of the Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon State Fire Marshal. Forest Grove firefighters are once again aiding at statewide wildfires.
Freshly returned from a deployment in the Gorge, crews from the Banks Fire District and Gaston Rural Fire District joined Forest Grove Fire & Rescue and other county agencies to head to the Alder Springs Fire Tuesday.
