Fern Hill Road has reopened, Washington County Land Use and Transportation said Tuesday.
Closed since Friday after floodwaters overtook the roadway and a driver and their car became trapped in floodwaters, needing rescue, it was the second such closure this rainy season.
"Come on in, shop with us and support our local business," said Forest Grove Bi-Mart Assistant Manager Will Gresens. He and several other staff were working to clean a clogged storm drain, which had flooded the bay where the exterior fire had started.
For the first time this season, the gates at Fern Hill Road are up, blocking access to a popular route for Forest Grove commuters trying to get to the east side of the county.
What did Forest Grove firefighters do to raise funds for firefighting in 1924? They danced. This and more in the news of a century ago in Forest Grove.
