The Washington County Sheriff's Office is accepting registrations for its Spring 2026 Community Academy, an eight-week class series offering behind-the-scenes access to law enforcement operations.

Participants will tour secure areas including the jail, training facility and dispatch center, and take part in interactive demonstrations like fingerprinting.

Classes run Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m., Feb. 12 through April 2.

The program "provides various learning opportunities to gain a deeper understanding of the inner workings of your Sheriff's Office," the sheriff's office said.

Applicants must be 18 or older, pass a background check and have no felony or violent misdemeanor history. Those who have been held in any jail in the past 10 years, or ever in the Washington County Jail, are not eligible.

Registration closes Feb. 2. Sign up online. Questions: 503-846-5578 or Meghan_Rasmussen@washingtoncountyor.gov.
