More 'no' votes may spell doom for the city's efforts to fund a new police station in Forest Grove.

The only close election in Forest Grove is Measure 34-343, a city of Forest Grove-sponsored request to fund the construction of a new police station on city-owned property.

In results issued just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, the race remained tight, but the "no" votes had pulled ahead from the last count to 51.52% or 1,748 of voters saying no to 48.48% or 1,645 in the yes column.

103 votes separate the nays and the ayes, but in every subsequent vote tally, the "no" vote has pulled slightly ahead. If the outcome were to change, a significant amount of "yes" votes would need to make their way through the USPS to the county elections division in the coming days.
