Friday, October 17

Homecoming Parade
A parade to mark Homecoming for Forest Grove High School students will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 5 p.m., with roads closed to allow the parade to pass.

The route is as follows: Starting Line: FGHS Campus (1401 Nichols Ln) ⟶ Bonnie Ln ⟶ B St ⟶ 23rd Ave ⟶Main St ⟶ Willamina Ave ⟶ B St ⟶ Bonnie Ln ⟶ Finish Line: FGHS Campus.

"Please help us keep our students and spectators safe by avoiding the area during that time, and driving cautiously in the surrounding area," the Forest Grove Police Department said.

Fall Choral Concert
The Pacific University Chamber Singers and Concert Choir will perform a diverse program featuring works by Tracy Wong, Heinrich Herzogenberg, Ruthie Foster, Johann Michael Haydn, Sarah Quartel and many more

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in McCready Hall, Taylor-Meade Performing Arts Center. Tickets are free for current Pacific students and staff, $7 for seniors, military, and non-Pacific University students, and $10 for general admission.

Friends of the Forest Grove Library Book sale
The ongoing Friends of the Forest Grove Library Book Sale will wrap up with one final day of book and other physical media sales in the Rogers Room inside the library.

Hours mirror the library's open hours from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A special treat for Saturday shoppers: "On Saturday, October 18, all shoppers can fill standard brown paper grocery bags with books and other media and pay just $10 per standard paper grocery bag full," the Friends group said.

Harvest Craft Fair with Friends of Historic Forest Grove
Visit the oldest home in Forest Grove—the A.T. Smith House— for a free craft fair with vendors, a raffle, and food hosted by the Friends of Historic Forest Grove.

The fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Trunk or Treat
Old Town Church will host their second annual "Trunk or Treat," with up to 30 themed and judged trunks open for candy handouts.

Trunks are open from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Gales Creek School Halloween Party|
The Gales Creek School PTO will host a Halloween party for Gales Creek-area children and alumni of the Gales Creek School, a former elementary school for more than 150 years before the Forest Grove School District closed it and reopened the facility as the Oak Grove Academy.

Scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m., the event features games and crafts, which end at 8 p.m., and a showing from 8 to 9 p.m. of Garfield's Halloween Adventure.

Ken Scholes Performing at McMenamins Garage Door
Cornelius resident Ken Scholes is an author and musician, among other things. "His soulful re-imaginings of classic covers combined with original music that speaks mindfully to the human experience and stories taken from his eclectic life make for an interesting and rewarding experience," a listing for his gig on Saturday reads.

He'll play from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Garage Door, which is located in the basement level at McMenamins Grand Lodge, by, well, the garage door.
