Power outages have been reported throughout western Washington County as at least two downed trees have taken out electricity for Portland General Electric and Forest Grove Light and Power customers.

In Forest Grove, Forest Grove Light and Power said about 600 customers were without power in a post made to their Facebook page at 11:40 a.m. due to a downed tree near the Forest Grove Substation on Oak Street.

"Our Light & Power crews have responded and are actively working to restore power. Service will be restored in phases, and we expect all customers to be back online within the next hour," the municipal power company said.

In Gales Creek, 15 Portland General Electric customers were without power starting at about 11:30 a.m. after a tree took out power lines on Soda Springs Road west of the Gales Creek Cemetery, blocking the road, one resident said.

In the Banks area, 226 residents lost power just after 12 p.m. in what Portland General Electric described as a weather-related outage.
