Update, 3:20 p.m.: Both Highway 26 and Highway 6 appear to be open, according to tripcheck.com, though winter weather continues to impact travel. Motorists should also be aware of a reported crash on Timber Road.
Highway 6 (Wilson River Highway) is closed near milepost 36, about three miles west of Glenwood, due to winter conditions, the Oregon Department of Transportation reported at 1:14 p.m. Wednesday.
“Winter conditions have closed the road. Use an alternate route,” ODOT said.
The closure came less than 30 minutes after Highway 26 was closed near the Timber Junction due to a crash.
Numerous crashes have been reported throughout the day on Highways 6, 26 and 47 due to snowy and icy conditions across the area.
Drivers should avoid the area if possible. Real-time traffic updates and traffic camera views of state highways are available at tripcheck.com.
