The Wilson River Highway is closed between mileposts 27 and 42 after a landslide and sunken grade made the highway, signed as Highway 6, impassable Friday morning.

"No traffic is allowed through in either direction at this time," Oregon Department of Transportation spokesperson Mindy McCartt told this newspaper late Friday morning.

Forest Grove Fire & Rescue described the sunken grade as being near milepost 35, and clarified that homes and businesses east of that area could still be reached.

"You can still go to restaurants and businesses before the affected area, just tell the crews you’re visiting those spots," the agency said.

ODOT geotechnical staff were heading to the location to assess the situation, McCartt said.

"We won’t have a timeline until after they can do a better assessment," she added.

Several area county roads remain closed for flooding, including B Street, Stringtown Road, Ritchey Road, and Fern Hill Road. View county emergency road closures at wc-roads.com.
