A Forest Grove Police Department officer has been charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants and official misconduct in the first degree stemming from an Oct. 15 incident in Forest Grove.

According to court documents obtained by News in the Grove and a conversation with Forest Grove Police Chief Henry Reimann, Officer Bon McBee, a nine-year veteran of the department, was placed on leave after being cited in lieu of an arrest on Oct. 15.

Now, the Washington County District Attorney's Office is pursuing two charges against McBee, driving under the influence of intoxicants and official misconduct in the first degree. Both are Class A misdemeanor offenses, charges that each carry penalties of up to one year in jail with a possible fine of up to $6,250.

McBee pleaded not guilty to both counts on Nov. 20.

Court documents obtained by News in the Grove listed the Forest Grove Police Department's address - 2102 Pacific Ave - as the place "at or near" where the alleged offenses occurred.

In a phone call with News in the Grove, Forest Grove Police Chief Henry Reimann said McBee had been cited in lieu of an arrest and placed on leave pending an investigation.

The department also notified the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training as required by state law, and notified the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Reimann declined to comment further, citing health-related privacy concerns.

In an email to News in the Grove, Washington County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Corporal David Huey confirmed that the sheriff's office was investigating what he characterized as an arrest on Oct. 15, but declined to comment further.

The charges

Prosecutors say McBee, a Carlton resident, was not only driving under the influence, but also failed to carry out his duties as a sworn peace officer while impaired.

While many details remain scarce as McBee awaits his initial appearance in court, scheduled for Dec. 17, court documents lay out the accusations against McBee.

The first count, driving under the influence of intoxicants, lays out the accusation without specifying what substance McBee is accused of driving under the influence of.

"The defendant, on or about October 15, 2025, in Washington County, Oregon, did unlawfully drive a vehicle upon a highway or premises open to the public while under the influence of intoxicants, to wit: controlled substance and/or any drug used alone or in combination with a controlled substance," the text reads.

The second count ties McBee's alleged DUII to his official misconduct accusation, alleging that he was on duty while under the influence of intoxicants.

"As part of the same act and transaction and part of crimes that are of the same or similar character and a common scheme and plan as Count 1: The defendant, on or about October 15, 2025, in Washington County, Oregon, being a public servant, to-wit: peace officer employed by the City of Forest Grove, and with intent to obtain a benefit, did unlawfully and knowingly fail to perform a duty imposed on him by law or inherent in the nature of his office, to wit: to not engage in official duties while under the influence or impaired by intoxicants.

contrary to the statutes and against the peace and dignity of the State of Oregon."

The case

The case is being prosecuted by Washington County Deputy District Attorney Nolan Hill. In an email to News in the Grove, a district attorney's office spokesperson confirmed Hill's handling of the case, but declined to comment further.

"Our policy is not to comment on cases until they are adjudicated," said Public Information Officer Stephen Mayer.

Reached by email, McBee's attorney, Katie Suver declined to comment, citing the ongoing criminal case.

McBee joined the Forest Grove Police Department in 2016 as a reserve officer, eventually serving as a patrol officer, field training officer, traffic stop instructor, and patrol officer in charge, according to earlier posts made by the department on their Facebook page.

In 2023, he became the department's face to local students in the Forest Grove School District as a School Resource Officer, largely working out of the Forest Grove High School and Neil Armstrong Middle School, according to the department.

"His job is equal parts protector, counselor, teacher, and mentor - and a typical day can involve anything and everything from, among others, investigating and resolving reports, teaching lessons on drugs, mediating and problem solving with kids, and just working to be a positive influence on the students," the Forest Grove Police Department said in a post made on January 5, 2024.

He was replaced this year by Officer Sam Younce as School Resource Officer.

McBee is a veteran, serving with the Oregon Army National Guard.
