Forest Grove man dies in crash near Fernhill Wetlands
A Forest Grove man died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening near the intersection of Southwest Fern Hill Road and Southwest Geiger Road.

A Forest Grove man died in a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening near the intersection of Southwest Fern Hill Road and Southwest Geiger Road.
According to a press release from the Forest Grove Police Department, officers responded around 7:20 p.m. Saturday, June 28 to reports that a single vehicle had crashed and rolled over, resulting in injuries near Fernhill Wetlands.
Officers arrived to find that the driver, later identified as Brian Blount, 62 of Forest Grove, had been ejected from the vehicle with critical injuries.
"Officers immediately rendered aid to the driver including CPR," the police department said. "The driver was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene."
His family was notified of his death before the department released his name publicly.
Fern Hill Road was closed for several hours Saturday night while a joint investigation between the Forest Grove Police Department and members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Crash Analysis Reconstruction Team (CART).
"Anyone who witnessed this crash is encouraged to contact the Forest Grove Police Department at 503-629-0111," the department said.
Also responding to the scene were the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Hillsboro Police Department, Sherwood Police Department, Oregon State Police, Cornelius Fire Department, Forest Grove Fire Department, American Medical Response, Washington County Land Use and Transportation and the Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office.
