The Forest Grove Chess Club expanded its membership from kids and teens to allow adults to play this week.
After launching last year, the club moved from the now-shuttered Gongaii Games to the Rogers Room in the Forest Grove City Library. The group meets on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Under the care of Scott Walsh, who also heads the chess club at the Forest Grove Community School, dozens of players competed Tuesday.
"If someone comes and doesn't even know how to move the pieces, we're happy to have them," Walsh said. He noted that there were skilled players at the club for those looking for more experienced competition, too.
The Forest Grove City Library is located at 2114 Pacific Ave.
