The play, directed by longtime Theatre in the Grove collaborator Alicia Turvin, has been making people look at their elderberry wine suspiciously since it debuted in 1941.
“This cast is outrageously talented,” said Turvin. “They’ve completely leaned into the chaos, the charm, and the creepiness that makes this play such a timeless favorite.”

The story follows the Brewster sisters and their proclivity for poisoning lonely old men with elderberry wine spiked with arsenic, strychnine, and "just a pinch of cyanide."
Deb Holmes stars as Aunt Martha in her first role at Theatre in the Grove, and Georgia Ketchmark in her own Theatre in the Grove debut as Aunt Abby and as the production's stage combat and stunt coordinator.
