Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office holds training exercise for their Dive/Rescue team at Dorman Pond

GALES CREEK - A dive team from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is training at Dorman Pond today. Dorman Pond, a popular trout fishing spot along the Wilson River Highway  signed as Highway 6  is located just west of the Highway 8 junction.

According to Sgt. Marcus Mendoza with the Clackamas Co. Sheriff's Office media relations office, there is no emergency at the pond.

Gales Creek resident Sharon Hundley (editor's note - yes, that's my mom) visited the site and spoke with a member of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, who told her that the dive team is training for a variety of water rescue scenarios.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office website, the dive team is an 11-member crew that responds to a variety of dive missions, including rescues, body recoveries, underwater evidence searches, vehicle recoveries and submerged hazardous materials.
