The city of Forest Grove's phone system is down.

According to a social media post from the city, every city department, including the library, was hit by the outage as of 11:30 a.m. on Monday.

911 and non-emergency dispatch were unaffected, the Forest Grove Police Department said.

"We are working to get the system operational," the city said.

"I'm sorry, that extension cannot be reached," an automated voice recited when the city's main phone number was dialed at 12:30 p.m. by News in the Grove.

An ongoing power outage also took out power for nearly 3,000 Portland General Electric customers in neighboring Cornelius, according to the PGE outage map.

This is a developing story, and will be updated as more information is confirmed.
