Forest Grove's American Legion Post 2 will hold a Memorial Day observance at Forest View Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, featuring guest speakers, an F-15 flyover, and a 21-gun salute.

Post Adjutant Wendy Berger-Wood and Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Rudy Saenz will feature as speakers, the group said in a message to News in the Grove.

"An F-15 flyover by the 142nd Fighter Wing and a 21 gun salute by the Forest Grove National Guard's 2-218th Field Artillery Battalion are also planned in our program," the Post said.

The program will be rounded out by the National Anthem and other songs performed by the Tualatin Valley Harmony Masters.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy and Marine Corps, American Legion Post 2 noted.

"For a quarter millennium, everyday citizens have stepped up to serve for all. We must never forget their bravery, valor, struggle and sacrifice.  We owe them all a debt of gratitude and remembrance," the Post said. "Come show your respect for those who lie in rest after serving our great nation."

Forest View Cemetery is located at 1161 SW Pacific Ave.
